Becoming While the World is Becoming

Lately, I’ve found myself wondering if the unrest I’ve been feeling is mine alone, or if I’m simply sensitive to something much larger moving through the world.

The Barbault cycle has become a lens I keep returning to. Not because I believe the planets determine our lives, but because they often seem to reflect the emotional and psychological seasons we’re living through.

Humanity appears to be standing at the edge of one of those rare moments when old structures begin to loosen before new ones have fully formed. We can feel it everywhere. The uncertainty. The polarization. The quiet sense that the world we knew is ending, even if we can’t yet see what comes next.

When I compare those same transits to my own natal chart, I realize something surprising.

The same story seems to be unfolding inside me.

Pluto is slowly approaching my natal Venus in Aquarius.

Venus is the part of me that knows what I love. It’s where I find beauty, where I connect with others, where I discover what I value, and ultimately, what gives my life meaning.

Pluto doesn’t arrive to take those things away.

It arrives to ask whether I’ve outgrown the version of them I’ve been living.

That question has been sitting quietly beneath almost everything I’ve experienced this past year.

I don’t think it’s a coincidence that I’ve found myself questioning not only my relationships, but also the life I’ve spent decades creating.

The work that once felt important no longer feels quite enough.

The ways I’ve learned to love no longer feel complete.

Even the dreams I’ve carried for years seem to be asking to evolve into something I couldn’t have imagined before.

For a long time, I believed healing meant becoming a better version of the person I’d always been.

Now I’m beginning to wonder if healing is something entirely different.

Maybe healing is remembering the person I was before I learned to abandon myself.

As Pluto moves closer to Venus, I don’t feel like something is being taken from me.

I feel like something inside me refuses to keep settling for half-aliveness.

That’s both beautiful and unsettling.

It’s difficult to explain to someone who hasn’t experienced it.

Nothing dramatic has necessarily happened on the outside.

But internally, it’s as though the emotional landscape I’ve lived in for years is slowly rearranging itself.

Things that once felt permanent suddenly feel temporary.

Things I ignored now seem impossible to overlook.

Questions I used to silence have become impossible to quiet.

At the same time, Uranus is awakening the Aquarius part of my chart.

I’ve noticed my mind weaving together ideas that once seemed unrelated.

Psychology.

Astrology.

Art.

Mythology.

The Inner Child.

Memory.

The Archive of Becoming.

I no longer experience these as separate interests.

They’re beginning to feel like different dialects of the same language.

Perhaps that’s what integration really is.

Not collecting more information.

Discovering the thread that has quietly connected it all along.

Saturn, meanwhile, seems to be asking a far less comfortable question.

Not “Who do you want to become?”

But…

“Will you trust the person you’re already becoming?”

There’s a difference.

One imagines a future version of ourselves.

The other asks us to live as that person today.

That may be the hardest work of all.

Then there’s Neptune.

If Pluto strips away illusion, Neptune dissolves certainty.

I’ve noticed that some of the dreams I carried for years no longer fit the person I’m becoming. That doesn’t mean they were wrong. They brought me exactly where I needed to be. But there comes a point when even beautiful dreams become too small.

I’ve learned that grief isn’t only something we experience when we lose people.

Sometimes we grieve identities.

Sometimes we grieve futures we once imagined.

Sometimes we grieve the version of ourselves that survived long enough to bring us here.

Looking at my chart, I don’t actually think these transits are asking me to become someone new.

I think they’re asking me to stop pretending I’m someone I’m not.

Maybe that’s why creating The Archive of Becoming has felt so deeply personal.

For years, I believed I was making an oracle deck.

Now I wonder if the deck has been quietly making me.

Every image I’ve created has returned another forgotten memory.

Every card has uncovered another piece of my own story.

Every page I’ve written has become another artifact in the invisible museum I’ve spent my life collecting.

I called it The Archive of Becoming because I thought I was preserving memories.

Now I think I’m preserving evidence.

Evidence that becoming ourselves isn’t a single moment.

It’s a lifelong conversation between who we’ve been, who we are, and who is quietly waiting for us on the other side of our fear.

Perhaps that’s what this moment in history is asking of all of us.

Not to predict the future.

Not to cling to the past.

But to become honest enough to live from the deepest truth we can find, even while the world around us is still deciding what it wants to become.

And maybe that’s why this season feels so disruptive.

Not because everything is falling apart.

But because something much more authentic is trying to come together.

The planetary conversation stirring inside of me.

I strongly believe in the power of art and ancient systems (tarot, astrology, human design) for emotional healing and wellness, and it is my ultimate passion, as an artist, to teach others how to use these resources in this way… They speak seductively to the artist in me and I'm quite fascinated by the intersection of art, spirituality, and psychology that exists within them.
