The Questions in the Barbault Basket

This week feels different.

The Barbault Basket: July 2026

Not because one transit is bigger than another, but because so many long-moving planets are beginning to speak to each other at once. Uranus. Neptune. Pluto. Jupiter. And by the end of the week, the Moon completes the pattern.

The parts of the configuration.

When I look at this geometry, I don’t see fate. I see possibility.

It feels like standing in front of a doorway that wasn’t there yesterday.

Something new is becoming available.

Jupiter, the planet of expansion, hope, and grace, is moving into opposition with Pluto. To me, this doesn’t feel like two forces fighting each other. It feels like a conversation.

Jupiter asks, “Can you receive?”

Pluto asks, “What has to die before you can?”

Real blessings don’t just change our circumstances. They change us. Sometimes the greatest gift isn’t getting what we’ve wanted. It’s becoming the version of ourselves that can finally hold it.

Mercury is still retrograde, and I’ve never believed Mercury retrograde is simply about delays or things going wrong. Sometimes life brings us back because we couldn’t fully receive what it offered the first time.

A relationship.

An opportunity.

A truth.

A dream.

A healing.

Not because we failed.

Because we weren’t ready.

Life has a beautiful way of circling back. Not as punishment, but as compassion. Sometimes the second chance isn’t a repeat. It’s an invitation to meet the same doorway as a different person.

On Monday, Venus stretches between Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto while standing opposite Hecate.

Your heart may feel unsettled.

What once fit may suddenly feel too small.

The values you’ve built your life around may begin shifting beneath your feet.

That can feel uncomfortable, but not everything that feels uncomfortable is wrong. Sometimes it’s simply growth asking us to loosen our grip.

Uranus is awakening us.

Neptune is dissolving what no longer belongs.

Pluto is transforming what remains.

And Hecate quietly waits at the crossroads, reminding us that wisdom rarely appears before we’re willing to enter the unknown.

Then Tuesday brings the Cancer New Moon alongside Mercury retrograde.

If Monday softens the ground, Tuesday asks a simple question.

What are you ready to plant?

Cancer doesn’t create through strategy.

She creates through memory.

Through feeling.

Through instinct.

Through the quiet voice beneath all the noise.

This New Moon may leave you feeling more vulnerable than inspired, and that’s okay. Vulnerability isn’t weakness. It’s often the place where something real begins.

Instead of asking what you should do next, ask yourself a different question.

What feels alive?

Not what looks successful.

Not what makes sense to everyone else.

What quietly keeps calling your name?

Because the seeds planted now aren’t just intentions for another lunar cycle. They’re becoming part of the emotional foundation you’ll build the next chapter of your life upon.

By Wednesday, the energy begins accelerating.

Uranus perfects its sextile with Neptune.

Then on Friday, Uranus forms its first exact trine with Pluto.

These aren’t ordinary transits.

They’re part of a much larger story.

The kind that reshapes generations one quiet choice at a time.

Uranus opens the future.

Neptune reminds us that not everything true can be explained.

Pluto makes sure whatever is authentic has roots deep enough to last.

Together they ask a question I’ve been thinking about all week.

Not, “How do I fix my life?”

But…

“Who am I becoming?”

Because healing isn’t always about improving the life we’ve built.

Sometimes it’s about becoming someone our old life can no longer contain.

The asteroid Kali joins Uranus during this unfolding.

Kali.

I don’t think Kali comes into our lives to destroy us.

I think she comes to destroy everything that keeps us from becoming who we truly are.

There comes a point in every life when the version of ourselves that once kept us safe can no longer carry us forward. We outgrow old identities, old stories, old ways of surviving. Letting them go can feel like loss, but sometimes it’s actually the beginning of freedom.

That’s the energy Kali represents.

She asks us to release what is no longer true.

Not because she’s cruel.

Because she loves truth more than comfort.

This is why Kali often appears symbolically during life’s biggest turning points.

The end of a marriage.

The loss of a career.

A spiritual awakening that changes everything.

Grief that reshapes your heart.

Recovery from addiction.

The unraveling of an identity you’ve carried for years.

The deep inner work of meeting the parts of yourself you’ve spent a lifetime avoiding.

None of these experiences are easy. In the moment, they can feel like everything is falling apart.

But sometimes life has to loosen our grip on who we’ve been before we can discover who we’re becoming.

Uranus is the great awakener. He brings sudden insight, unexpected change, and the courage to step beyond the life we’ve always known.

Kali asks us to release everything that isn’t built on truth.

Together, they create the kind of awakening that changes us from the inside out. They peel away the masks, the roles, the expectations, and the stories we’ve inherited until only something honest remains.

It’s rarely comfortable.

But it is often the beginning of living a life that finally fits who we really are.

By Sunday, the Moon enters Libra, completing the final point of Barbault’s Basket.

The pattern is complete.

The current becomes impossible to ignore.

And still, Jupiter stands across from Pluto.

The question remains exactly where it began.

Can you receive without needing to control the outcome?

Can you allow life to surprise you?

Can you trust that the universe sometimes arrives wearing clothes you wouldn’t have chosen?

Pluto isn’t interested in making life more comfortable.

He wants to transform the person living it.

That’s the kind of change that doesn’t disappear when the transit ends.

It becomes part of who you are.

So if something unexpected happens this week…

If an old dream returns.

If a conversation changes everything.

If a difficult truth asks to be acknowledged.

If help arrives from somewhere you never imagined.

Pause before deciding what it means.

Ask yourself instead,

“What if this is the blessing?”

To me, that’s what this week feels like.

Not a promise that everything will suddenly become easy.

An invitation to become open enough that when life reaches toward you, you recognize it.

The future isn’t rushing toward us.

It’s quietly introducing itself.

The only real question is whether we’re ready to meet it.

I strongly believe in the power of art and ancient systems (tarot, astrology, human design) for emotional healing and wellness, and it is my ultimate passion, as an artist, to teach others how to use these resources in this way… They speak seductively to the artist in me and I'm quite fascinated by the intersection of art, spirituality, and psychology that exists within them.
