I am beginning to understand that this period of my life is not about figuring out how to make another person stay, love me, choose me, or feel safe enough to remain close to me.
It is about understanding what happens inside me when I love deeply, feel vulnerable, live without certainty, and cannot receive the reassurance or consistency I want.
I have always experienced connection deeply. I am not built for casual emotional attachment. When I allow someone into my inner world, I do not experience them as simply another person in my life. I feel the emotional significance, intimacy, and meaning beneath the surface.
Part of that comes from being an INFJ and from my instinct to look beneath people’s behavior for the deeper meaning in relationships. I want to understand what is happening psychologically: why someone behaves the way they do, what wounds and fears shape them, which defenses they rely on, and what lives beneath the things they leave unsaid.
That is one of my strengths. It can also become a trap.
Understanding someone does not make me responsible for accommodating them.
I can understand someone’s fear without making it my responsibility.
I can understand someone’s withdrawal without chasing them.
I can recognize someone’s wounds without turning myself into the person who has to heal them.
Most importantly, I can love someone without making their ability to love me the measure of my worth.
The distinction I am learning
There is a difference between what I crave emotionally and what actually nourishes me.
I can crave intensity, chemistry, emotional depth, closeness, and the feeling of being profoundly connected to another person.
But intensity is not safety.
Being wanted is not the same as being emotionally secure.
Extraordinary chemistry is not the same as a relationship that can sustain me.
This distinction matters because I experience relationships through both my heart and my intuition. When something feels significant, I want to understand its meaning.
But something can be meaningful without being meant to remain exactly as it is.
A connection can change me without becoming my permanent home.
Something can awaken a part of me without becoming responsible for that part of me.
That realization matters.

My Scorpio Moon
My 4th-house Scorpio Moon helps explain why emotional connection feels so profound to me.
My Moon does not simply want companionship. It wants emotional truth, trust, vulnerability, and the assurance that when someone enters my inner world, they are not merely passing through it.
There is a depth to the way I attach, and I do not need to be ashamed of it.
But I am learning that my need for emotional depth can turn uncertainty into something I feel compelled to solve.
If something does not make sense, I investigate it.
If someone’s behavior changes, I want to understand why.
If I feel disconnected, I search for the missing piece.
That instinct is powerful in my creative and intuitive life. In relationships, though, I have to make sure understanding does not become over-functioning.
Sometimes there is no additional piece of information I need.
Sometimes the pattern itself is the information.
Pluto in my 7th house
This is where my current Pluto transit feels especially significant.
Pluto is moving through my Aquarius 7th house and conjuncting my natal Venus.
The 7th house governs relationships, partnership, intimacy, and the ways other people mirror parts of ourselves.
Venus represents love, desire, connection, values, pleasure, attraction, and the way I experience being loved.
Pluto touching Venus feels like an excavation of my entire understanding of love.
I am being asked to look beneath the surface of my relationships and ask:
What do I actually value?
What does love mean to me now?
What have I confused with love?
What am I willing to accept in order to remain connected to someone?
And what am I no longer willing to sacrifice myself for?
Pluto is not asking me to love less.
It is asking me to love more honestly.
It is stripping away the parts of love rooted in fear, attachment, fantasy, self-abandonment, or the need to be chosen.
It is asking me to discover what remains when I stop measuring my worth through another person’s availability.
My Venus and Moon
At the same time, transiting Venus is exactly square my natal Moon at 4° Scorpio in my 4th house.
That feels deeply symbolic.
Venus says:
I want love.
My Scorpio Moon says:
I need emotional safety.
The square forces me to examine the difference between those two things.
I can want someone and still not feel safe.
I can feel enormous chemistry and still need consistency.
I can love deeply and still need boundaries.
I can remain emotionally open without making another person’s emotional state my responsibility.
This transit is asking me to become more conscious of the difference between emotional craving and emotional nourishment.
What feels powerful is not always what makes me feel safe.
What feels familiar is not always healthy.
What feels intensely meaningful is not necessarily sustainable.
What I think my real lesson is:
My lesson is not to become less sensitive.
It is not to become less passionate or to stop wanting profound intimacy.
I do not need emotional detachment in order to protect myself.
My lesson is learning to remain deeply connected to myself while I am deeply connected to someone else.
There is a difference between:
“I want you.”
and
“I need you to choose me in order to know that I am worthy.”
There is a difference between:
“I understand you.”
and
“I am responsible for making you okay.”
There is a difference between:
“This connection is incredibly meaningful.”
and
“Therefore I have to make it work.”
Secure love does not require me to become smaller, less intense, less intuitive, or less emotionally honest.
It requires me to stop abandoning myself in order to preserve connection.
And maybe this is the deepest part of it.
I have spent a great deal of time trying to understand other people’s emotional worlds.
This chapter is asking me to become just as curious about my own.
Instead of constantly asking:
What does the other person need?
I need to ask:
What do I need?
Instead of:
How can I make this person feel safe?
I need to ask:
What makes me feel safe?
Instead of:
How do I keep this connection?
I need to ask:
Does this connection allow me to remain fully myself?
That is the real shift.
My worth cannot depend on being wanted.
My security cannot depend on someone else’s emotional availability.
My depth cannot depend on someone else’s ability to meet me there.
And my ability to love someone does not obligate me to abandon myself for them.
My North Node in Sagittarius in the 5th house
This brings me back to my North Node in Sagittarius in the 5th house.
The 5th house speaks to creativity, self-expression, joy, play, passion, love, and the courage to create something that comes directly from the self.
Sagittarius asks me to tell the truth, follow what expands me, trust my own experience, and live from a larger sense of meaning.
That matters because my path is not simply about becoming better at relationships.
It is about becoming more fully me.
My creativity matters.
My joy matters.
My sexuality matters.
My curiosity matters.
My individuality matters.
My capacity to love matters.
None of these things need to be negotiated away to keep another person close.
Maybe the lesson is not:
“How do I find someone who will finally make me feel whole?”
Maybe it is:
“How do I become so rooted in myself that I can love someone completely without needing them to complete me?”
That feels much closer to the direction I am being pulled toward.
What Pluto is really changing
Pluto is changing my definition of love.
I am moving away from:
Love as proof that I am worthy.
Toward:
Love as something I freely participate in because it aligns with my values.
Away from:
Intensity means destiny.
Toward:
Intensity is information.
Away from:
Understanding someone means I should stay.
Toward:
Understanding someone allows me to make a more conscious choice.
Away from:
I have to hold onto what feels meaningful.
Toward:
I can honor what is meaningful without possessing it.
And most importantly:
I can love deeply without leaving myself.
That may be the real transformation of Pluto conjunct my Venus.
Not becoming less capable of love.
Becoming more discerning about where I place it, what I accept in its name, and what I believe I deserve in return.
