Deck Review: Tarot Banksy — Karma Star Tarot

CooptyLew was brilliant with the pieces she picked for card representation. The 3 of Brushes (Wands) is a person pulling back the grey paint that’s covered graffiti. It’s revealing the compilation of graffiti artists that has built and built, and that no matter how much it gets covered over, there will always be that foundation.

Thank you to Karma Star Tarot for a heartfelt and honest review of the Tarot Banksy!

fullsizeoutput_6ef3Nicola is funny! If she thinks the deck is punchy, she should try sleeping with it! Before I released it, I did a month-long study of the deck, where I slept with it every night, and what weird dreams I had! There were also multiple questions I asked and pulled cards for the answers… It was interesting to say the least!

Here is a PDF of the guidebook that you can download and do with as you please…

I swear to God I was channeling Banksy during the time when I was writing the guidebook! I recorded all of my card pulls and kept track of every single interpretation from then, and I’m planning on publishing a coloring book with black and white punch-out tarot cards. It will also be a full guidebook, complete with card images, quotes, keywords, full interpretations, and a couple thought-provoking, socially-charged questions for each card. I have it written already, but when the printer told me that the guidebooks would cost more than the cards, I quickly revised.

Here is my guidebook journey…

… And proof that the blurb for the Buckets was there when I sent the file to the printer.

I’ve got no clue as to what happened to it after the file was sent! 😳 I had so many problems with the graphic design for the deck because I did not know Photoshop! The printer probably had to tweak something because I had my sizes all off and a quickly approaching Kickstarter deadline. (However, for having no background knowledge in Photoshop and no help, I think it turned out pretty damn good. My next deck should be all kinds of FAB!)

I strongly believe in the power of art and ancient systems (tarot, astrology, human design) for emotional healing and wellness, and it is my ultimate passion, as an artist, to teach others how to use these resources in this way… They speak seductively to the artist in me and I'm quite fascinated by the intersection of art, spirituality, and psychology that exists within them.

  1. No, I think that would be coo,l girl! I would love to read your perspectives. And yes, link the guidebook if you want to. I find it easier to read on screen because the guidebook is so small and I am old! LOL Forgot to tell you, I bought that Avele Street Deck that was in your post with the Tarot Banksy. Can’t wait to get it. Looks amazing!

  2. Thanks for sharing this!
I’ll have to try sleeping with it. Actually, that said, last night I did sleep next to it and had some interesting dreams I’ve been trying to work on. I’ll try the full month 🙂
Thanks for sharing the PDF. Mind if I link it on the Review?
I will be first in line to buy the full on guidebook. I”ve been doing a series for the Wild Unknown deck with meditations from it, and I was thinking of doing one with your deck next, but incorporating some research on the Banksy piece related to the card. If that’s stepping on the toes of your guidebook-to-be, I’ll totally refrain.
Thanks again for the deck. Seriously one of my favorites. Also–totally bomb for my creative writing spreads too 🙂
